General info

Season planning and study habits that transfer across almost every event.

How to train this season

Science Olympiad rewards consistent practice more than last-minute cramming. Treat each event like a course: learn the current rules, build notes, then pressure-test with timed practice. New to the competition? Read What is Science Olympiad?

Season checklist

  • Read this year's official rules for every event you compete in
  • Keep a binder or drive folder for notes, diagrams, and mistake logs
  • Schedule weekly partner practice (even 45 focused minutes helps)
  • Rotate weak topics into warm-ups first
  • Run at least one full timed practice before invitationals
Partner tip

Split ownership early (content depth vs. speed/test strategy), then swap roles so both partners can carry the event if needed.
